Standard and Poor's annual list of stocks that increased dividends for 25 straight years or more is about to fall below 40 for the first time since '92 according to a new Bloomberg article. The list peaked at 64 in 2001.
But it is not all bad news, some firms are still increasing dividends. The article mentioned Abbott (ABT), 3M (MMM), Coca Cola (KO), Kimberly Clark (KMB) and Wal-Mart (WMT) as stocks likely to remain on the dwindling list.
