AIG Bonus Payments May Be Revised Higher
CNBC is now reporting that AIG may have paid out $218 million in bonuses instead of the $165 million previously reported. This will probably continue to outrage people but if the $218 million figure is right that means that AIG used .12% of the $182.5 billion received from the goverment for these bonuses. Not 12%, .12%, less than 1%, 12 frickin basis points. Perhaps the government could focus on items that will have a bigger impact such as the $7.7 billion in earmarks included in the recent omnibus spending bill.
